WE ARE IN PURSUIT OF CHANGE

We believe in the potential – and understand the urgency – of innovation in making the world better for communities, business and the environment to thrive. Transforming the world we build is a challenge of generational importance for all of us. At Pi Labs, we are on a mission to back the founders whose boundless ambition matches our own, so that together we can get the built world back on track and fit for the future. The issues we care about as a team are having an impact on almost every aspect of life on this planet.

The issues we care about as a team and where we believe our community and our investments will have an impact.

CLIMATE CRISIS

The human impact on the environment is evidenced by the legacy of inefficient and carbon intensive built environments – our homes, offices, towns and cities.

The construction, management and operation of real estate and urban hubs places a heavy burden on the planet which must be reversed urgently for future generations to survive. Course-correcting on a global scale requires innovation to help us minimise waste and embodied carbon in build, and improve operational carbon impact and energy efficiency in use.

AFFORDABILITY
& ACCESSIBILITY

We are in the midst of a socio-economic crisis as the steadily rising cost of living and inflationary landscape combine with a rollercoaster of energy prices and housing shortages, to make this one of the most competitive environments for achieving financial security.

Innovation can level the playing field, by democratising complex financial processes for a more accessible economy, while built world technologies support more efficient supply of homes and affordable, fit-for-the-future spaces for all.

HEALTH AND WELlBEING

In recent years we have witnessed the start of a global wellbeing revolution, forcing society to dramatically rethink how we live our lives.

The health and wellbeing of our children, our neighbours, our communities and workforce have all risen sharply to become one of the most pressing issues of our time and the built environment has a role to play in creating healthier cities and healthier spaces for all.

RESILIENT BUSINESS

Against a turbulent and unpredictable economic landscape, businesses today are grappling with challenges and change on an enormous scale.

Whether in recovery, or growth, businesses increasingly look to technology to help them navigate fast-evolving working practices and workplace trends, a widening skills gaps, a competitive war for talent, a highly legislative and regulated business environment, and planning for ever-present threats on business continuity.

THRIVING & sustainable CITIES

Our urban hubs, towns and cities are no longer fit for purpose. The journey to recovery will be long and bumpy as we collectively respond to the combined impacts of Covid-19, a retail sector irreversibly altered by online competition, a workforce reluctant to return to offices, aging homes and infrastructure, and inefficiently designed urban hubs.

Communities and businesses need vibrant, safe, accessible, liveable and sustainable towns and cities to thrive.

DIVERSITY EQUALITY AND INCLUSION

OUR COMMITMENTS

Across all aspects of our business, we are persistent in our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and insistent on continuously learning and improving.

As far as DEI within the global venture capital landscape, we recognise there is still some ways to go. In our own team, and amongst our stakeholders in the Pi Labs ecosystem, we’re putting in the work to create and nurture a culture where everyone is welcome, regardless of background, ethnicity or gender.
